Client in focus: Green Future NI Ltd


Task

Launch start-up Green Future NI Ltd, a design led sustainable construction firm, with headquarters in Armagh & Monaghan, Ireland. The company, responsible for building Northern Ireland's first ever government accredited zero carbon home, the 'Green Future House', a code level 6 sustainable blueprint build in Middletown Co. Armagh.

 


Strategy

Debunk common perception of eco-homes as expensive grand designs, far removed from the reality of ordinary people - as this innovative construction company has now proved energy efficient homes can now be achieved at a comfortable price, similar in cost to conventional builds.

Inform key audiences/stakeholders Green Future NI has created an affordable blueprint 'mini power station home' suitable for mass construction of energy-efficient homes.

Deliver messaging that energy efficient homes which integrate highest-standard green energy technology can be built within social housing budget  margins.

Invite leaders from the analyst community, academia, government, government bodies, industry, potential customers, partners and potential partners to meet with Green Future NI executives, visit its 'Green Future House' to see first-hand how a code level 6 zero carbon house works.

Secure key media references and third party validation.

Create conversations and advocate the benefits for a zero carbon social housing pilot site with Irish and Northern Irish Governments and key private and public body stakeholders.

Educate key publics on the need for a scaleable low cost zero carbon code 6 private and public housing solution to address major energy crisis & fuel poverty experienced by millions in NI, Ireland & GB.

Establish this company as a national award winning responsible organisation, reflecting its achievement, values and ethos.

Lobby reintroduction of Stormont's defunct 'Zero Carbon & Low Carbon Homes Scheme' & create discussion and agenda with key decision makers on the future on housing in NI including Stormont's DSD & DFP, NIFHA and CEF, as well as industry market leaders, developers,investors and thought leaders.

Organise stakeholder and press events.

Maintain and strengthen links with education, academia & research bodies including the company's researchpartnership Ulster University 'Centre for Sustainable Technologies' and Invest Northern Ireland.

Establish key stakeholders, key messages & social media channels, content strategy and community management.

Stakeholder Engagement

PR's Me delivered introducing Green Future NI with its stakeholders. Our client's achievements have been recognised within its industry and by the wider business community. We raised the roof - Green Future NI received an impressive 15 award nominations with 5 national and regional awarding bodies.

The company has been finalist for two prestigious UTV Business Eye Awards, a finalist at 2013 Housing Awards with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) NI. Green Future NI has also been finalist for 3 awards in the 2012 annual Sustainable Ireland Awards, with Green Future ultimately lifting a top award at the awards ceremony. Green Future NI was also finalist in 3 categories at the annual SEED Business Awards 2012.

Results

From the beginning we produced meaningful & tangible PR andpublic affairs results for Green Future NI. The company created conversations with key stakeholders and achieved extensive multi-platform media coverage across broadcast, radio, print and online tier 1 b2c, b2b targets. Crucially, Green Future NI secured many newcontracts as a result of media relations activity.
